thanks for the info.. just have a question on the recruiting. I'm going to be a junior and my grades are decent but not yet good enough to get into ivies or these academic schools. I am taking a few AP clasess this year and i am going to study real hard this year, and i capable of 27 or above on my ACTS. Will they cross me off my list this early just because my grades are not that high as of now?..
NJBb1174,

Probably not cross you off the list if you are a rising junior and you showed well. If you received interest from the coaches, keep communicating with them and see where it takes you. If they are interested, most likely they will tell you to get your grades up, and nail the SATs or ACTs.

The GPA organization is a combination of Ivy, CAA, Big East and ACC schools. Each has their own seperate academic and athletic requirements as well as admissions process. My suggestion is for you to better understand those academic and athletic requirements in detail so you understand what you have to do in the classroom and college boards. If these schools appear to be a stretch for you that is fine. Make a couple of them your stretch school(s) and also pursue some other schools that better fit your current grades and SATs as a backup plan. If you are an outstanding baseball player, it may be possible to leverage your baseball skills to help you get into a school that ordinarily may not have accepted you. Just a thought.
