Going to a D-1 school is just about everyone's dream coming out of HS. A lot of things get in the way....need a year or two more of physical developement, you grades aren't where they need to be, maybe your family doesn't have the money to pay the balance beyond the small scholarships most kids get. Perhaps you haev been slowed down by an injury. Or maybe you just never got a chance to be seen when you were playing in your peak form. There have been options to be sure, but there is a fantastic option for someone who may fall into those categories above now that Mike Palmer has been named head coach at Harper College. His experience coaching plus his expertese in Physical Training for baseball really sets him apart. If you might be one of those guys check it out. It is going to be one of the premier local options in the coming years. I'm guessing in a year or two there will be a lot to say about what has happened there.
