Just finished reading Bottom of the 33rd, by Dan Barry. A wonderful telling of the longest baseball game in base ball history, a 1981 contest between 2 AAA teams -  the Pawtucket Red Sox and the Rochester Red Wings, whose rosters included many future stars, Wade Boggs and Cal Ripken among them. I highly recommend it.

I'm in the middle of Francona - The Red Sox years.   So, far it is pretty darn good despite Dan Shaunessy co-authoring the book.  Shaunessy is a tool.  I'm finding Francona's approach and some of the internal chemistry/politics to be interesting.  He definitely had some challenges with Manny, and Pedro.  He is the kind of manager you want to work for.
