GCA won 28 games and lost 2. While it may be true that GCA would have a hard time going 28-2 in the Beach or Southeastern districts, to try and give them a hard time is ridiculous. "Lub", you have to give them some credit for hosting a tourney with some quality teams. That's all that they can do. We have the same problem at Maury. Congrats to GCA and Cape Henry!
I agree, I have seen GCA play and have seen them play some tough teams outside of their conference. They hold a open tournament each year welcoming all who want to play, so there should not be any bashing on a team that welcomes all comers and they don't come.

ACE45:

Congratulations on GCA's success along with your own son's GREAT year. You know me and my son because we have played against each other when my son played for the Richmond Reds, He was the lefty from Fredericksburg, Daniel.

Successful life to you and your son Josh!!!

I've seen almost every high school basebll team on the southside play this year and GCA is the most fundamentally sound team in the area. While I am not a fan of their player acquisition strategy, to suggest that have played no one of "note" is ridiculous. This squad played DHs almost every weekend on top of their regular season conference schedule. They completely outplayed every team they played (public and private)in the spring break tournament they hosted. Like them or not,you have to give credit where it's due.
