My son gets hitting lessons from a guy who played AA ball for the Blue Jays. My 12 year old really hadn't seen much of a curveball in his travels. He had seen them before but 11 and 12 year olds throwing curves and 27 year old guys who pitched in college and are a different critter.

He was pitching some bp to Danny and I made the comment about how at the 14u level he might be seeing some curve balls this year. So he decided to throw some to him.

I gotta say Danny looked pretty bad on a few but actually got wood on a couple of them. It was the funniest thing seeing him try to get on them though. The guy pitching to him mixed up fastballs (in about the 65mph range, nothing extreme) with these curves and Dan got a good idea of what he can expect in a couple of years.

Fun stuff to watch.
