Later he signed autographs at my Tire business and visit my home for a lunch.
Visit U-tube for the batting style of Willie. He had great powers of observation and knowledge of players and managers. Willie actually called the pitches for the Giants pitcher while playing CF
and set defensive positions for the infielders and OF.

Does anyone remember the catch he made on Game of the Week against the Reds? I've tried to find video for years. No luck.
Is this is the catch "bare handed" in left center field. After the catch he came to the NY Giants
dugout and ask Mr. Leo, "did you see the catch"?

Bob, the famous barehanded catch that goes with the story you told was earlier than the one AntzDad is talking about. It was off the bat of Rocky Nelson of the Pirates in around 1955 or 1956.
AntzDad, are you talking about the catch where he and Bobby Bonds leaped at the fence and nearly had a very bad collision? I saw that catch when it took place on TV and believe it was in either 1970 or 1971. Bonds was in one of his first years on the club at the time.
