Im 22 ive played baseball my whole life practicly and the last time i really played was when i was 18 my senior year of highschool. I just got back into baseball again in a fast pitch adult league. Im having trouble picking up the faster pitching....our first game i went 1-4 ( one K ) but i hit little dribblers the other three times ( one blooped in) is there any drills that can help me right now...t work maybe?? I need to show these guys i can hit i love the sport and i know i can perform. so if anyone could help i would appreicate it.

Not that Im a perfect hitter but heres what works for me

Go to a local batting cage at make sure your stance is in tact.by this I mean

-Make sure your front foot is parallel or slightly back of your back foot
-Make sure you are loading up soon enough
-make sure you are shifting your weight back
-Try widening out,it might help at this point

Wood bats is a huuuuuge change. With what futurecathcer said also really focus on that sweet spot because on a wood bat its so much smaller. Also work on hand eye coordination and bat speed. Have people throw wiffles or baseballs softly and track it all the way in. You can either let it go by or catch it in your right hand. Bat speed is something that'll help too because with the wood bats its harder to get around on pitches. Tons of work can be done.
