With a Tony Montana accent...
Say hello to my little friend...SS Orlando Cabrera

Jon Garland...He Gone
Juan Uribe...He almost gone

Arise Sox nation and hail the new #2 hitter

P.S. Is there a law against having 2 Cabrera's?

Here's one who's not gone. Kerry Wood gives a no-brainer hometown discount to the Cubs signing a one year deal at $4.25M plus incentives. Internet sources including the site, www.mlbtraderumors.com had several teams interested in KW with at least a 2 year deal. I guess his relationship with the team and Jim Hendry actually means something to him.

Can anyone really believe that KW has been with the Cubs for 14 seasons? Man, time really does fly.

soxnole- The Sox singled out Uribe as one of the culprits in their 2007 downfall, citing his lack of consistent hitting, his lackadaisical fielding and his gradual weight gain. The Sox declined a $5 million option on Uribe and tried to cut his salary to $3.5 million before settling on a $4.5 million one-year deal. -I think the Trib summed it up on 11/21. He may have a cannon, but lack of mobility is a hindrance at ss.
Not so fast batwest!

Lets just look at 07, a down year for JU.

FYI....Juan Uribe had the # 1 Range Factor in the AL.

They were the top 2 in the AL in "Zone factor"

Caberera (as Tuzi points out) is not a better defensive SS.

He is virtually the same as JU.

They both are among the best defensive SS in the game.

In 150 games Juan had more chances than Orlando did in 153.

Their fielding Pct. is similar.(.976 - .983)

To insult his range is ridiculous.

Can you remember the greatest play of the 05 WS?

Or....the last play of the WS?

He's good in the clubhouse and he can carry a team with his bat for short periods of time.

He is a much better option than Richar in 08.
