Just received the email with list of coaches for the California Headfirst sessions in June 2016.  My question is: will there be many (or any) coaches attending who are not on that official list?  I know at the Stanford Camp last year, there were many coaches scouting and watching who were not officially on the list that was sent out ahead of time.

Just wondering if it's worth it to write to some coaches and see if they will be there.  Thanks for any thoughts on this.

In my experience with a 2012 and 2016, I did not experience many coaches at Stanford who were not on the official list.  Ditto for Headfirst.  There were some at both, but not many in my experiences at both Stanford Future Star and All Star (2x for both) and HF Jupiter, Sac, and Long Island (5 total times).

Regardless, yes, a player should write/call the coaches on his vetted list of schools and let them know where he will be showcasing.   That's true even if you believe a coach will be attending the showcase/camp.

The player wants to continue to demonstrate interest to the schools on his vetted list.  And he'd like the coaches from these schools to see him play live.

Last summer there were numerous coaches at Stanford All Star 1 who were not on the list.  Several CA schools, a few Ivies, and others.  My son saw at least a dozen not on the list during the week, and that was from a not always very observant teenaged boy!

For HF NY, there were like 100 coaches there so it was hard to walk without bumping into a coach.  Not sure there were any not on the list.  HF CA may be different though.
