I know it's not 100% about being altruistic, but that's an excellent idea for HF to run that, and could be very useful for parents looking for answers.

Yes, it is a business.  But HF has a great idea to reach out digitally given the "new normal" (credit to bandera and his/her previous thread on this topic) or temporary recruiting improvisation in college baseball recruiting .     This is probably a beginners session to prepare students/parent on the things they should be doing, what to expect, and what is different for 2021 and 2022 recruiting.   There will probably be a sales pitch about additional HF services, again probably worth listening to what they have to say.  I would have been all over this webinar 10 years ago.  I couldn't get enough data back in those days.   My company has a benefit called "College Coach" which hosted webinars about college admissions, financial aid, college essay proofing, scholarships, etc...  I was on every one of those webinars and asked many questions.

So, for those getting started at the 101 or 201 level there is probably something in there for you.   For those that have been around the block a couple times it probably isn't going to give you what you are looking for.

Enjoy!

Hi all -

Thank you for sharing the invite link, @MidAtlanticDad - and thank you to all of you who were able to join (in whole or in part) last week.

I wanted to make sure and pass along the recording for the webinar that we did - as well as the "cheat sheet" with the timestamps for specific topics that we covered. Given the breadth of the ground that we were trying to cover, it's on the longer side, so want to make sure that you all have the opportunity to skip ahead to the most relevant areas.

To some of the other points covered above - the webinar absolutely was meant to cover some of the basic/intro topics, which I'm sure this group has covered to varying degrees on this and other threads. I'd be willing to guess that the collective knowledge on recruiting, showcases, college baseball - and a lot of other areas! - on this forum surpasses that of the general baseball parent population by a wide margin, so a lot of these topics and questions will be familiar to this group. But in that vein, I'd love to collect questions to cover on a second round of webinars that could dive deeper into specific questions and topics. If there are questions burning for follow-up, please leave them here and we can do a round two!

Happy to also start up a dialogue with anyone here with personal follow-up questions - best way to reach me while I'm working from home is definitely email: mmckenna@headfirst.com. Feel free to reach out with any follow-up questions, thoughts, feedback, etc. - would love to hear any thoughts and feedback from this group on the webinar and what we can cover next that would be helpful for families navigating the recruiting process.

We've also been doing some additional posting on our blog recently, so please feel free to check out that recent content, as well: https://www.headfirsthonorroll.com/category/baseball/

I just want to pipe in and say I found this useful and reassuring.  Yes, it covered a lot of the things folks here are already talking about, but not everyone hangs out on this forum.  And, he was talking fast to cover a lot of ground in one go.  I had my son sit and watch it with me to help him get his head around what he will be dealing with over the next few months.  I think Head First should continue to do web events like this to help players and parents navigate the "new normal."  I have also found the Quarantined Coach web interviews helpful.  These are strange times and I'm grateful to anyone trying to get out good information and advice, especially when its free.

I also attended with my son and it was very helpful that my son heard with his own ears what the effect is projected to be and what he has to do now. It wasn't me telling him so. So that resulted in him getting his videos and academic info together the next day and making use of all the tools to drive his own outreach.

Thanks Headfirst! And thanks to the poster who gave the heads up. I saw it here first and that's why we signed up.
