Lefty,
The Headfirst Honor Roll showcase is one of the best showcases in the nation. It and Perfectgame academic are definitely in the top 4 or 5 in the nation. They are academic showcases so the vast majority of players attending are kids with above average academic stats. At Headfirst there is nothing to buy. No T-shirts, bats, gloves etc... The program works like this:
Saturday-morning showcase, hitting, fielding, running the 60, catchers and pithers, infielders, outfielders, first and third basemen, are all seperated into different groups. The Headfirst staff runs this part and the college coaches evaluate.
Saturday-afternoon and Sunday-4games. College coaches coach and evaluate on each field and the teams rotate from field to field.
Sunday-afternoon, recruiting info and a Q & A session with the college coaches. Finished by 4 or 5pm.
My son attended for 3 years at their Florida showcase. He loved it. He was recruited by several schools since he attended as a sophomore. All top acdemic schools represented. All Divisions represented. Go to their website and check out the schools(www.headfirstbaseball.com). they will not put in a school that they know will not be attending. Some of the schools are Georgetown, Yale, Lafayette, Princeton, Trinity(Tx.), Emory, Navy,...
If you have the grades I recommend it. You will enjoy it. Even though my son ended up at a school which did not participate at Headfirst, I would encourage you to attend. If you need more info call them up. Brandon Sullivan who runs it is a great guy.
