I just wanted to say "hello" to the baseball moms. I posted here a few times last spring and really enjoyed the board.
I have an 8th grade catcher that is getting ready for his opening day, March 4. He is a little nervous about the big day. The team scrimmaged last Thursday and there is definitely some rust. My son and some of his teammates had just finished basketball season on Monday!
I hope the moms of older players don't mind me sharing our jr. high experiences here. My oldest son played baseball from age 4 until graduation day from high school. He is now in his second year of college and "retired" from baseball. Although he will be umpiring this spring. The high school coach told my youngest to have fun his 8th grade year, because the real work begins this summer. The high school coach has already indicated that youngest son will be the high school catcher this summer and next spring. We are excited but nervous about that prospect.
