Its been a long time since I've been here. I enjoyed reading all the post. During my son's Jr. and Sr. years of high school I learned so much from this web-site. My son is not playing ball this year because of academic ineligibility. It has been hard on him but I think he learned a lesson he will never forget.
We got his final grades a few days ago and he did very well. He finished with 28 hours and needed 24 to be able to play next season. I think he learned alot more than what was taught in his classes this year. He learned a tough lesson.

It is a very tough lesson indeed. My son didnt make grades, called me crying on the phone, wanted me to talk to the teachers, he missed by .025, but I told him I wouldn't do it. He had to take another class, which took 5 weeks to complete. He is back on the team, Finished his season with a 610 batting average, but the hardest thing for him was losing a starting position as catcher, We did have a hard time understanding the coaches decision to keep the other catcher in, when his average is 273, my son played his last ten games, as a DH waiting to be put in as catcher, the coach would also put in a Junior over my son who's aver. was about 170, It was very hard to sit in the stands trying to answer other parents questions as to why my son wasn't in. But, in the end we just chocked it up to family relations, apparently, thats what you have to deal with. And we told our son, it all evens out in the end. You can only go so far, on the coaches coat tail. That other catcher will have to prove himself on his own talents someday. We have just finished a very tough senior year. Looking forward to college ball now. Good Luck
