Hello! A few of you who have been around for a while may remember me.....my son played baseball at Stanford, graduating in 2008, and I used to hang out here a lot. He has moved on to the working world (starting a private equity job in the spring!), and I have become an empty nester, enjoying my children's adventures from afar (and working hard to pay twin college tuitions!)

For all you wonderful moms, and others, on the site, I have a request (which I have cleared in advance with Julie).....

Anyone who has a moment, could you take a peek at my daughter's video application (just 3 minutes) for a travel internship, and give her your vote if you feel so inclined? Just think of it as being in the realm of supporting our great big extended baseball family!

She is one of the high vote-getters at the moment (the application involves more than votes, but they are helpful nonetheless) but the voting goes on for a while still (til the end of the month) and her family is doing its best to spread the word!

Thanks again, Bordeaux (who should probably change her name now....)

And thank you Julie!

I thought it would be good to let you all know that one of those windows DID open (along with several others). She was just named a Barnard Centennial Scholar, an honor that brings with it a very nice stipend for independent study, as well as lots of additional opportunities in NYC. ( Barnard Centennial Scholars http://www.columbiaspectator.c...nts-research-freedom) Her project involves making a film about an educational foundation in northern India. So travel, and film, she will! And persevere in face of disappointment she did--as all our kids do!

We are grateful! And thankful again for your support.
