I had someone ask me if having your helmet painted is not legal in Poney Baseball? Can anyone help? Helmet meets safety standards. It has a design airbrushed front to back.

I am not sure about Pony, it isn't in LL. Many after market paints react with the helmet material and makes it brittle.
yes, its illegal under PONY rules too......you can find it around PONY rule 8-E-2...

No decal other than the players name, number and team logo shall be added to a nocsae approved helmet. Headgear in violation shall be removed from play...
Not sure what age of player you are talking about, I know PONY has lower age groups, but at the 13-14 yr old level those painted up helmets you see in kiddie ball seem to be childish and arent seen much...the older the player, the more "uniform" they become...
And MST is right that these paints can alter the performance of the shell.. its why in HS football most equipment is sent out to be professionally refurbished to protect the integrity of the shell...

Absolutely right. My son several years ago had to remove his favorate team's logo (he is a Cubs fan) from his helmet for that reason. I think he was about 10 at the time.
