I've got two teams I wanna play for. One plays a great schedule, 8 tourny's all at major D1's. But the coach/team doesn't really have a reputation. On the other hand, the other team plays a good schedule, couple big D1's, East Cobb and at my dream school. The coach/team is well-known and has a great reputation. Would playing at my dream school's showcase give me a better chance of them coming then if I played with the other team and the bigger showcases?

I would reach out to the coaches at your dream school and see where they are going to be this summer. If they are going to be at tournaments where both teams are, then it is a matter of figuring out which team you're more comfortable with.

Talk with coach you would play for on both teams. You may possibly be underestimating the first program. Just because a program is new does not mean the coach isn't known in certain circles. The second program is the same way. The coach may have ins at certain schools etc.

IMO it really boils down to who you're more comfortable with. Of course if the first team isn't going to WWBA it makes the decision a little easier Smile

UpStM13 - What grad year are you? I ask because it makes sense to play the appropriate WWBA tournament.

In terms of reaching out to colleges, ask the coaches if they know where they're going to be this summer. The sooner you make a commitment to a summer team, the sooner you can get YOUR schedule to them. This way they can come watch you play, as opposed to hoping they'll be around where you are playing.

Then I would play with a team that's going to the 16u WWBA or even the 17u WWBA if you feel like you can play at that level. Not as many coaches are at the 18u WWBA because it's for graduating seniors. There are some, but the majority of coaches are actually at the 17u WWBA.

Hope some of this information has been helpful. If you'd like, send me a PM with the two teams and I can possibly give you a little bit more information about them.
