im an 11 yo kid and my max speed for pitching is 58 mph, for one thing, is that good? And secondly does anyone have any predictions on wahat my max speed will be in my senoir year in high school?
hey kid, you're doing fine. But velocity doesn't really mean anything until your later years in high school. Until you're being 'scouted', it's just a fun number to play around with. Your first goal at your age should be to learn the proper mound mechanics and to 'hit your spots', or be able to throw the ball pretty much wherever you want it to go. There a loads of guys who have focused mainly on velocity and are not pitchers, they're just throwers, Their chances of success are limited. The kid who learned to PITCH at your age and then let natural velocity kick in with age and growth has MUCH better chance at success........
