It is 32 outside and our coach is running a scrimmage. Can someone give me websites or any information on why kids should not be playing in this type of weather. I know that metal bats can get ruined but what about injuries. Are pitchers more likely to get hurt, are more muscles pulled. I know that the players can not field balls because they can not feel their fingers. I need help!!!!! I would like to be able to give the coach and AD some "expert" opinions about why baseball should not be played in this weather. By the, way the wind is blowing, we are not far from Lake Erie, I wonder what the wind chill factor is?

You must spend more time warming up and to keep warm.

Pitchers will have a hard time getting loose. There is nothing but common sense when it is very cold outside.

Pitchers should have a conservative pitch count in my opinion but it depends on the player.

Some players stiffen up quicker than others in cold weather.

Each player needs to recognize when they are no longer loose enough to throw.
