In a post today titled Last Varsity Start, a woman from the northeast who describes herself as "a mom of boys playing baseball" shared this:

"I signed my oldest up because all the other kids in the neighborhood were playing. He loved it and the rest is history. Then his younger brothers wanted to be like their older brother and now baseball has taken over my life. I wouldn't have it any other way. The time spent with my boys and the memories made are priceless."

THIS ... is why I believe all the talk about baseball being somehow overtaken my other sports isn't true. This game will live forever.

Thank you for finding HSBBW, baseballmomx4. And thank you for reminding this baseball dad of the countless reasons why I love this game.

YOU rock!

Lol Matt. Great post jp. I was on facebook or as I sometimes call it disgracebook the other night at it was picture after picture of moms and dads with their kids at Sr night. I remember my son's last HS game. I remember his last college game. I couldn't help but to think about the first time I threw him a ball. The first time I saw him in a uniform. All the time spent together in our journey together. And I couldn't help but smile as the tears started to try and come out. God's been good. Thank you for the opportunity to share something with my boy. I have to tell you, it only gets better. Holding your grandchild. Seeing them take what made them a player to the world and winning at something much more important than a game. Yeah it was good. But you ain't seen nothin yet.

Seriously...can they not make an iron-out that doesn't stink SOOO bad!  As for baseball taking over a parents life...yup, it's time consuming and difficult, and nerve racking at times but I wouldn't have it any other way!
