Over the past few weeks, several members have reported problems getting into our Chat room when other members announce a chat.
First, I want you to know that you are NOT being purposely kept out and there is NO secret password required. (And just in case you don't know how to find the Chat room - move your cursor over the left edge of your screen and the menu should pop out.)
If you do have a problem getting in to Chat, you probably need to download an update to the Java software for your browser (it's free). This update is needed because the company which hosts our site and provides support to our forum software made recent upgrades to the Chat software.
You can download a free update to the Java software for your browser at:
http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp
I'm always careful about checking who owns the website before I download software. The site above, java.com, is owned by Sun Microsystems, the creators of Java - it's safe!
Please let me know if you have a problem that isn't solved by this download. That is, a technical problem - more specifically a Chat room problem. Any technical problems caused by following Gotwoodforsale's instructions on getting pictures into your computer should be addressed directly to him. Especially if you didn't unplug the monitor before taking the back off as he suggested. But if you see smoke, call the fire department first!
