Hey all,

I live in Colorado and am in Florida right now. I've never thrown in Florida before and threw today (long toss) and the ball moves around like a ping pong ball here. In Colorado I would get a little movement but here I throw a 4 seamer and it moves 2 feet. I then threw a curve ball and it was unbelieveable. I was throwing bp to my team and just snapped one off from 40 and the kid bailed and it drop right in the zone. I couldn't believe what the air will do to the ball.

Has anyone seen a huge difference throwing from a higher altitude state to throwing at sea level? Also, do scouts look at what state you throw in and see how much more movement you would get if you would threw in a place like Florida?

Thanks,
Tallman

Hey Tallman! Long time no see!
Sounds like your recovery is going as expected.

I tend to think that the lighter air causes me to see more movement (I think it's because my head is spinning)!

Seriously, they probably don't think that much about it.

You'll start to notice it less when you get used to it (the movement that is). But if you can get it to move at altitude, you're doing it right!
