How do some other coaches choose their All-County Honorable Mention players?  As I understand it each team gets a few selections.

How do you all base it on.

I think 1st and 2nd team are for stats and voting from the other coaches in the county.

Honorable Mention to me is giving your player the recognition he deserves for representing your program to the highest standards in the classroom and on the field, not about stats.

Any opinions?

No real opinion to be honest. I know in one of our son's leagues a coach could put his player's name on the HM list, but I don't know if thats true in other leagues.

I have a little insight into how our area newspaper picks their all-metro team and its not very sophisticated at all.  Basically the writer talking to a handful of 'trusted' coaches and it seems to come out more or less ok each year.

Our 2 sons have both benefited and suffered from politics and so I learned a long time ago to just not worry about it. Just enjoy it when it comes, forget about it when it doesn't.
