This is something that I have been trying to put together for a couple years now and I finally have locked everything and everybody in. I am very excited to bring this seminar to the players, parents, and coaches of the area. If any hsbaseballweb member (former recruits, parents of recruits, coaches) would like to share their experiences please PM me so I can send you a short questionnaire about your recruiting process. It is our combined knowledge as a whole group that will allow us to best guide our young players through what most of us know is a difficult process.

Thanks in advance for your time and efforts,
Justin Stringer

Surprised to see such little interest in this yet. Is $25 too much? I thought that people would be more interested in this, but maybe I just need to do more marketing and promo.

I will give any hsbaseballweb member who would like to come to this event $10 off if they PM me in the next 7 days (1/2/07). I really believe that this will be a truly educational and informative event that will be help any player or parent who has questions about how the baseball recruiting process works.

Justin,
For years in the fishing business, guides and charter captains have paid states for the lists of license holders so that they may market their services to them. The guides thinking was that this had to be how to target their market specifically. That list never produced well. The reason for it is that the people that buy licenses are mostly doing it on their own and have no need of a guide or captain.

I suspect you may be facing the same problem here. The people that are here seem very well educated on the recruiting process and answers from respected individuals are easy to come by. For that reason, although your seminar would seem to be highly educational for most, this particular place may be the wrong target for that level of information.
JMO
Best of luck
Justin, Please feel free to send me info on your event I will request that it be posted on the sites we are affiliated with. We have a younger target demographic, that would probably be a great fit for this. One of our contributors (CPD in that distruict), directed us to Bash Academy after an article in the Sunday Trib featured the place, we sent a rep over and he was impressed! They converted a building with ample space, I recall hearing the guys working there were friendly, accommodating and willing to provide whatever was needed. They had turf and nice size bays. I forgot to say you can pm me privately so you don't upset some of the guys here. I like your idea I just don't want to see you get lambasted.

[College recruiters start their search with freshman in High School...That's right, Freshman! Several players from the TBS All American Teams have already been contacted by college recruiters. Start preparing now for how to deal with phone calls, campus visits, what camps to attend to best showcase your talents, what to ask, what not to ask...Stay tuned & stay informed at TBS!

Did you get permission to take copyrighted information? Just kidding, yes freshman have received letters from coaches. Camp invites and questionnaires, all within NCAA guidelines, they also happen to be kids from the Baseball America Team for the Ages feature, not the local legion team. Hmmm. Can you cut me some slack. I love this game as much as you, this is getting redundant. I must also bring to your attention that a young freshman basketball player (from a grade school in my neighborhood) just gave his commitment to a college yes a freshman orally
Committed to a college. Not baseball, but can you believe a college recruiter talked to him?
Ever hear of Robert Stock? Here are a couple of other kids that were looked at recently as Freshman: The key impact players are Tony Calhoun, Jesse Moore and David Nick. Moore and Nick are MI's and Moore pitches. Calhoun is a RHP and an OF he has steadily improved his fastball and now is a consistant low 90 man. (Now a 10th grader)

These guys have participated in the West Covina Thanksgiving Classic, AZ Fall Classic and are signed up for the 07 JO's. The most "physical" team in all of California. The players from he Blacksox include Mike and Nick Massari, Shon Roe, Travis McBride, Chad Wojciechowski and others. Some suprising names that are hiting the 16u board are Brandon Van Dam, Malcom Culver, Shawn Smith and Jake Mahan. Van Dam, a 6'6" 220lb RHP who throws a consisntant 86-88. Malcom Culver is a raw 3B with above average power and a very strong arm across the INF. Shawn Smith, who is just above 6'0" and throws 88-89 and flirts with 91. He has a power curve and exceptional movement. Mahan is about 5'11" and is the definition of a leadoff hitter. Slaps but has hidden power. Looks to drive opposite field but can turn on heat on the inner half. Very quick and above average arm. Plays everywhere.
Yes the scouts contacted them as 9th graders.
Calhoun is considered the top 09 in the country and he showed very well at PG event!

Ibach, TBS, whatever...

Thank you for your interest but I would very much like to NOT be associated with those "sites" that you will forward this info to. Any sites that claim to have “12-14yo all-americans who have five legitimate tools and are among some of the top players in the county at their positions” is not OK with me. I’m not worried about anyone on this site lambasting me or my events either because my record and reputation speak for themselves. Please leave this thread alone!

Ibach....

Since you want everyone to think you are just trying to help and I'm sure you have nothing to hide, can you answer these direct questions?

I'm sure there are those who have the technical knowledge to find out for themselves, but I will just ask the questions: Are you Mark Ormond? Are you connected with him in any way?

I'm sure in the interest of credability you will have no problem answering.
I just wanted to say Thank You to Justin Stringer of Do It Right Baseball for his continued support as a sponsor of this forum, and now to BASH Sports Academy for being a new sponsor. It's kind of neat to see them both teaming up to offer the seminar this weekend!

Parents and players, if you would like to say Thank You to two of our sponsors, consider checking out this seminar on Saturday the 27th - it sounds very interesting, and I know I would attend if I lived in the area.
