Agree with Redbird5. Just keep on getting better. When catching pitchers during bullpens treat it as a game....work on first keeping the ball in front of you then actually angling your chest such that the ball bounces right in front of you where you can just pick it up. Good runners will read a pitch in the dirt and steal. Block the ball so all you have to do is pick it up and you'll shut them down.

Many catchers fail to use bullpens as game time practice.They get lazy during bullpens.

The coach will play the catcher that hits the best, manages the pitchers the best, calls the game the best and controls the running game the best, with intelligence.

Oh yeah....those four things are what scouts look for too!

Not playing every game behind the dish won't effect your chances. Improve your technique, and also request to work out at third and first - not only will you get a chance to earn more playing time, learning additional positions increase your knowledge of the game. Above all, work on your hitting - if you hit there is always a place for you in the starting line-up.

Hit harder and more often. Everything else is way down the list...
