Providence Catholic, based on the amount of D1 recruits on the squad should be on everyones favorites list. They have a lot to live up to. Downers Grove South has a great chance if they can generate some offense to go along with their dominant pitching. Nazareth Academy has a very talented senior laden team. Those should be the top three in my eyes. No mention of top teams would be complete without St Rita. Have a funny feeling that they will have a say in things before it is all said and done. Others in the mix? I look for Warren,Stevenson, and St Laurence. Sleeper team? Palatine...came on real strong at the end of last year and is another senior dominated squad that should fare well in the MSL and beyond.
Strong upstate bias here, with some good reason but...

Chatham Glenwood??? Defending 3A champs and they're benefiting from a strong transfer student from my area to help replace some great seniors.

Teutopolis in 2A lost some key guys but they have such a great track record I can't believe they won't be in it at that level as well as their runner-up, Harrisburg.

I'd also keep an eye on Ottawa Marquette featuring our own biggerpapi's son in 1A.

At the 4A level, watch out for Normal West, a school that contends every year and has been churning out prospects for a while now.
a lot of good teams. last years st. laurences sophomore team was very strong!! great hitting, pitching and amazing chemistry. this year's varsity; with most of the awesome team from last year returning coupled with the great sophomore team coming up.....they will be tough to beat. again, chemistry and enthusiastic coaching goes a long way.
agree st. rita!!! oh and don't forget mt. carmel and br. rice....always great teams!!
No predictions--season starts in 3 wks--looking forward to some great games. Get the oppertunity to play some great programs--Andrew,Providence,Lincoln Way (East and Central), Lockport, Neuqua Valley, Joliet Catholic, Sandburg and many other terrific programs and then play programs like Plainfield North in conference. Then play in some wonderful summer tournaments--What a great life to be the parents of a 16 yo baseball player. (Oh then fall ball )
