Lubbock High (3-21, 1-7) at Amarillo High (19-2-3, 8-0), 4;30 p.m. today: Because of TAKS testing, this is the only metro game of the day. AHS puts a 13-game winning streak on the line. With Lubbock High struggling, the big news of this game may be that Dave Knobler and the statewide cable television show, "High School Sports Xtra" will be in town to feature the AHS program.

The player should know better, if the coach doesn't....
Why kids think they have to be a "hero", or are forced to stay on the mound is ludicrous to me! I hope he has something left for Schloss!
Part of the training my son has received is to "hear what your body is telling you". He knows if he goes 15-17-20+ pitches in an inning, he's done & says so to the coach!...He sets his goal for 7 innings between 85-95-100. If he sees himself going too many batters or long counts, he knows he's done for the night. His HS coach would never "make" him stay in when son said he no longer "felt" his arm "had it".
