Highlight Video Evaluation - 19 yo Juco Player

He looks like an excellent player.

 

Problem with the "video", not the player, is that it leaves some questions...

 

How does he run?

How strong is his arm?

Does he hit with power?

 

That is three of the 5 major tools, that the video doesn't show very well.

So, should the first two have video with a clock /radar or have it listed as a stat? How do we show hitting power output?

Thanks for your comment Bolts. Can you tell me more about hitting? Are you saying more hitting clips or do you mean making the clips longer so you can see the ball flight?

Im no scout, but here are my 2 cents

Video shows he has range, good hands and fluid mif skills.  It does not show whether he has a SS or 2B arm which may matter depending on the program you are targeting and their current needs and/or existing players.  It also gives the appearance of a contact hitter, but as soneone else mentioned, does not necessarilly speak power...no baserunning is really in there either.  This is not to say he doesnt posses these things, im just speaking to the video.


So, you might add some clips to show that or simply list the key numbers at dome point such as:

IF velo, 60 time or htf time, and maybe slugging percentage or other indicative info.
