When to hit and run depends on several factors. The hitters ability to handle the bat. The speed of the baserunner. Is the pitcher around the plate consistently. 2-0 3-1 counts in my opinion are good counts to hit and run on. Most of the time here you are going to get a good pitch to hit. 0-0 can be a good count to hit and run on if the pitcher has fallen into a rhythem of throwing fbs on the outer part of the plate to start hitters off with. Quite honestly sometimes it is a gut instinct that I might have at that particular time. As far as the bunt and run I only use this when I want to try to go from first to third on the bunt. I need a baserunner that has great instincts and can run well and a batter that can handle the bat. JMO
