that happened to me a while back, and i found out that cages can help. If it's available, take as many swings as possible. Throw your hands at the ball and try to control the bat and hit up the middle or oppo. Also try to focus on the ball and the release point of the pitcher. In your off time, try to visualize the perfect mechanics, the perfect pitch, and you hitting it to the right place. I was injured and missed most of this past season due to a left thumb ligament tear. When i got back, the visualization helped so much that my first game back i was 2-2. Just keep practicing and dont give up.
i dont mean to get off topic, but he asked...

Since i transfered to the school as a soph., i was placed on the frosh/soph team because the head coach wanted me to get experience. it was the third game of the year, the second of a double header that day. it was only a scrimmage, so my coach was experimenting people in different spots. I played RF and 1B, so he put me in RF cause i had played 1B the whole time. The CF had never played that spot before, and a ball was hit to right center. Unfortunately, neither of us could hear the other calling it off thanks to the freeway noise next to our skool. While reaching with my glove hand ( right hand ) for the ball, he collided with me, fracturing one side of my thumb and tearing the ulnar collateral lig. on the other. I ended up going in for surgery and had a cast on it for 5 weeks. While i was out, i was kinda an assistant coach for the team, so i stayed involved.

After recovery, i came back and played 8 games. My first game i went in in the top of the 4th and then batted in the bot. I went 2-2 in the game and finished at .350. I had to tape my hand before every game, though, and it was a huge hassle.

God blessed me with that small # of games and now im ready for summer ball!

Hope you enjoyed the story!
