I'm a freshman on my varsity baseball team. I'm a good hitter and I'm hitting .500 right now, with 5 walks. The only problem I have right now is hitting with 2 strikes. It seems like I'll almost swing at anything. Like in a game yesterday I went 2-3 but my third at bat I got 2 strikes and the pitcher threw a fastball low and about 2 feet off the plate and I just threw my bat at it. I've struck out 2 times this year and both times it was the same thing. Does anyone have any advice on how to correct this or drills to do. Also what should I change with 2 strikes as in approach or stance, etc.

Thanks,

Craig

95% mental when you have 2 strikes-- you have to believe that he won't get you out no matter what he throws at you--- CONCENTRATION and BELIEVING IN YOURSELF ---any pitcher has you beat already because of your mental attitude--- the good hitters are excellent 2 strike hitters because of their mental makeup coupled with their hitting ability

BUT

Keep in mind even the good ones get fooled every now and then--- forget that at bat and go on to the next one-- you cannot change what is
4luvofthegame,

While no batter wants to strike out, a player cannot fear striking out, or for that matter occasionally being called out looking.

Realize that it happens to the best hitters in the game. Some time they are completely fooled and sometimes they are called out on a bad pitch. It happens.

The only way for it not too happen is if a hitter is so afraid of striking out that they swing at everything with two strikes like it sounds you are doing.

So my advice is to continue to learn the strike zone and as you do, realize that you are going to incur strikeouts, but as you do this, you are also going to let the bad pitches go by and end up hitting the next strike hard.

Good luck.
