i recently attended a showcase and was given a bad home to first time. I was wondering if you guys could watch the video and time it to see what you all got. It would help a lot. I attached the video down below. Thanks in advance!!!

Also, here’s a second one. What would you all say the time for this one is? Just trying to get an unbiased time before jumping to conclusions.

It’s hard to tell by video. Are you taking the longest stride you can take? One of my players improved his time by extending his stride. His feet were churning. But his stride was too short. The change didn’t happen overnight. It took time to adjust.
Very hard to tell from these videos but it looks like, at least for the first few strides, that your arms are working against your body. They are moving across your chest instead of parallel to it. This is gonna slow you down. Talk to the track coach at your school and see if he can help you work on your running form.
It is hard to tell when you are touching the bag in either vid, but I got 4.4 from ball to bat contact to crossing first and 4.35 on the second vid. I used coaches eye.
I have something close to what 2022NYC has, maybe a tick lower. We can give you times but, maybe more importantly, advise you to be careful what you do with the information. What they have is what they have. Be respectful of that as you choose your course of action.
That sounds about right. On the first vid they said I got a 4.65 which just seemed really off. Thanks for the unbiased timing.
Cabbagedad, I am not planning on composing or anything like that. Overall, I was satisfied with my results. I just wanted to make sure I am not getting slower.
Agree that it's hard to tell from video. Best spot is to be really close to first base as you can hear when ball hits the bat, sole focus then is foot on bag. I got 4.5 consistently in first video and in the 4.2s for the bunt which should be lower. I forget what position you play; HTF times are most valuable for CF and MI. First video you seemed to slow up towards the end.
HTF and 60 times were the most critical measurables for my son, as speed is his best tool. He would run different times based on conditions, surfaces, timers, etc. After he would give me a 60 time from a showcase, I would usually ask, how many ran and where did he rank. On the otherhand, it was important for him to do many showcases that could give him an unbiased reading--the more chances for him the better. Once he hit specific numbers, he stopped doing showcases and focused on schools where he was on the radar. Good luck BCT.
