In a different thread, I mentioned my first aluminum bat - a 30 inch 33 oz monster that I got in the summer of 1974 for Little League.

I also remember from that era Fiberglass bats - that were solid fiberglass, weighing a real ton. My dad, who was our little league coach, bought that one because fiberglass should have good whip. Too bad it weighed a ton and none of the kids could swing it.

Anyone else remember those terrible bats in the transition from wood to high tech?
