I am putting together a small pitching showcase on June 30th at 2pm to be held at Londonderry High School. This won't interfere with summer ball teams as it is during the day and they will literally come and throw a bullpen session with college coaches watching. No drills, or anything else.
I started out doing this because I have 2 or 3 really good pitchers who didn't get a chance to pitch this season for various reasons. As I have started to put this together I have decided to open it up to a few pitchers outside of my program. If you know of a sophomore/junior who is a LEGIT college pitching prospect, please get me their information. I won't quarantee they have a spot, but I will give it an honest look.
So far I have 6 schools coming: Castleton, SNHU, Gordon College, UMASS-Lowell, URI, University of New Haven, and a possible pro scout there (if he can get time).
Any interest?

Carollo from Londonderry was the only sophomore on the Class L first-team All-State this year. The kid is a stud and will only get better with Londonderry's weight training program. Poore has all the physical tools, just needs to work on the mental side of the game. Jake Finnegan is a 6'3, 210 lb. LHP who has tremendous upside.
I would like to see Veillux from Central show up as well as the top younger pitchers from Class I/M/S if I just knew how to contact them!
Kyle Turner from Nashua North 2011 Sophmore, 6-3 190. In 2008 as a Freshman was 1-0-1 on Varsity Team. Record for 2009 Saeason was 5-1-3 . Pitched against Salem, Trinity, South, Timberlane, Concord. I think he meets your potential. Will be in numerous showcases for the Summer, Fall. Currently playing for Senior BR Marauders and attending Fall GSBA Fall league.
He took my son deep last season in Babe ruth!!! Course a kid who saw some Varsity action as a freshman should have probably taken a 7th grader deep!!

I don't know much about Kyle on the mound but I do know that he is a good kid who is well liked by his teammates and is well respected as a player by the parents who have watched him play. Good solid ball player.
I invited Baker but have not heard back. I have two slots left and would like to see him in one of them. Nelson is in if his coach will get me his information!
I have to say I am very enthusiastic about the turn out in terms of both quality arms and colleges. This started out as a way for me to show some of my higher quality arms that didn't get a chance to pitch too often to a showcase of top YOUNG arms in Southern NH. Very pleased.
If you are still looking for another pitcher consider Joe Maher (Bedford class 2011). He is 6-3 and throws hard. He played in the GSBA showcase last year, but didn't pitch much because the older kids were being showcased. You can check with the GSBA guys. He is pitching for Bedford Legion now and won against Derry yesterday.

I am the dad of a junior from Goffstown High School his name is Colby Couture. He started 3 games for Goffstown and relieved in several games and performed very well.Would he be allowed to throw in that pitching session on June 30th.

Throws 82-83 excellent control has 3 pitches.cell-300-0284
I capped it at 10 and all the players have accepted. The showcase will happen at 2 on this Tuesday at the varsity Londonderry field.
I know there are still great pitchers out there, but I strove for the top. I believe I got them, based on other coaches suggestions and my own observations over the course of the season.
I hope this does well so it can run again next year.
GSBA: I think it went well. The coaches appreciated the simple format and the kids didn't do anything to interfere with their summer teams. I am definitely going to do this again next year, with the goal of opening it up to more than 99% class L. The only issue I will have to overcome will be in selecting the kids. I try to go through coaches and most of the ones in L have been very forth-coming. I have reached out to other class coaches but have heard very little back.
The other issue with that is I heard from quite a few parents wanting to get their kids in. It was nice to see such proactive parents, but I want this showcase to have the top level. I can't tell you how many parents think their kid throws 84-85+, and it just isn't true. I don't think they are lying, but I think they need to be realize that unless you have a scout who matains and calibrates their gun they are most likely 3-5 miles off at least. I had one kid who I went on parent recommendation, they said he was clocked at 87. Ok, I'll bite. He gets to the showcase and tops out at 79-80, and this is without pitching for 4 days! That is the only reason why I want to deal with coaches, as they tend to be less biased about this subject. There are not as many kids throwing in the 80's as being reported in New Hampshire. I think there are quite a few, but nothing near what people say.
