Tr,

Maybe they should also sign Wagner, Molina, and several other overpaid players so that no average family will be able to afford an outing to the game. That's the very, IMO, undesirable downside to all this salary escalation. With the TV packages teams are making more money and think nothing about raising ticket prices. My lowly 4th place Cubs even announced a ticket price increase. If this was back in the day, my dad would not have been able to afford to take me to a game. I can't see this trend ending anytime soon, but it is not good for the long-term health of the game. Future fans are made by being brought to the games by mom, day, grandpa, etc. If they are priced out of the picture, where will the next generation of fans come from?

It is New York and the Mets need to keep the Yanks off the back page of the News and the Post

I will take Wagner, I understand the Mets are offering him 10 mil a year, in their bullpen

In actuality all baseball players are overpaid if you want to get down to it.

The Mets with their own new TV station will make their money from the TV rights not the fannies in the seats

I still don't think you can buy a championship like Omar is trying to do. Yes he will improve the club, possibly even make the playoffs, but I think he is just competing with the Yankees, not doing what is best for the team. If they wanted Delgado so bad, why didn't they just outbid everyone last year? Why have to trade for him, and lose prospects. And how about the Marlins? This is pathetic, to just get rid of you team because you simply can't afford it no more, without a new stadium. Move the **** team out of florida, to somewhere they will support you. Two World Championships, and two fire sales? This is absolutely no way to run a business.

The Minaya Mets. LOL

They will have 4th place locked up.

And hopefully - DelGado will stand up straight for the National Anthem. Usually - he just declines to stand up at all.

Heres my deal. As long as DelGado is on the team - I am no longer a Mets fan.

First time in 47 years.
When he goes - I will be back.

Bye bye Mets.
TRHIT, Are you a real Mets fan? (This is not a loaded question. The basis of the question really is that I have had e-conversations with you many years back, and dont recall that you pull for the team from Queens. I was a "Yanks before Mets" guy all my life (I'm 45 years old and from the Central Jersey area), until the Mets drafted my son.... funny how the bone-deep loyalities can change when a team becomes part of the family!)
