Cowtown Classic

SAGINAW — The Guyer Wildcats finished 6-0 overall at the Cowtown Classic. The Wildcats coasted to a 15-3 win over Abilene Cooper and a 6-4 win over Saginaw Boswell.

In the first game, Jacob West went 4-for-4 with two RBIs to lead the way for the Wildcats. Tucker Butler and K.J. Anderson both went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a double. Brad Kottman went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a double.

Jacob Rhame (2-0) picked up the win, striking out five batters.

In the second game, Jacob West went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a double to lead Guyer (10-1) over Boswell, 6-4.

Tucker Butler went 2-for-3 with a double. Andrew Avera (1-0) got the win in relief and K.J. Anderson got the save.

“We’ve had some pitchers do a good job,” said Guyer head coach Jonny Kinzy. “We hit the ball extremely well.”

Guyer will open district play at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at The Colony.
