To be sure, just call them, many will give you a good idea of where you stand with them.

Yes, if its a school you were really set on. Be ready to read between the lines similar to a HS girlfriend breakup too.

But some schools back off because they perceive lack of interest on your part...thats why its good to close the loop.
I like the HS girlfriend analogy...because a lot of what coaches do is court the prettiest girl in the room.

In our own experience...

We had one relationship where we wouldn't get a call back for a couple of week, then a flurry of emails and a few calls about being their top priority. It was easy to see that the coach was trying to woo someone else. But a couple of times it looked as though the game was over with them, only to have them running back. They eventually made a very substantial scholarship offer.

In another relationship, it was compeletely one sided, a perennial powerhouse school...all junior, no interest from school. The night of the first day of the MLB draft, the school calls out of the blue with a scholarship offer...they never even shook hands with my son at any event or asked for transcripts or a visit.

So, it ain't over 'till the fat lady sings. But, I always had junior looking, not waiting.
