We're in a debate between FC, E and 1b.

Bases loaded, two outs. Routine bouncer to 2nd baseman. SS was slow getting to 2nd base. 2nd baseman double clutched & then flipped the ball to SS. The runner was called safe.

Is it a single because there was no physical error? Is it an E on the SS for not covering, an E on the 2nd baseman for not going to 1st when he saw the SS was late? Or is it scored an FC, like when the D fails to get the out at the plate on a squeeze?

I'm also not sure if there are different scoring rules for a tag play vs. a force. I don't know, it seems like it should be an error to me. If it's a hit, the pitcher would get charged with an ER for rolling a ground ball to 2nd with 2 outs, that doesn't seem right either.

Anybody know the right answer?
