...to get drafted or signed? A typical starter in the majors would need at least 3 tools that are average or better. For example a rightfielder would need to hit for power, have a strong arm and a decent glove. A centerfielder would need speed, hit for contact and either an arm or glove, of course both would be better. But how good are the guys who get drafted? Would a typical prospect projected to be a starter already have the 3 tools or maybe have only 1 or 2 tools or would all the tools be below average before development? What about guys drafted in the deeper rounds who don't project to do much for a major league team or even reach the show? I have a link here from a camp held by the Tigers, can anyone tell if anyone here is good enough to be a prospect?

I know there's more to playing than tools, things like attitude, hustle, etc., but please keep any replies to tools please, I have more questions on the mentality later.
Oh, and if anyone here has a son playing pro ball, feel free to post their grades from a scouting report if you can, it certainly would feed my curiosty. Thanks.
