Stuff,

67-70 is typical for a high school freshman. As the earlier poster mentioned 10-15mph jump in 1 year is not realistic. A 3-5 mph increase per year would be a more realistic goal.

My son threw 72-75 as a freshman and will throw 82-85 this year and he is a senior LHP who had TJ surgery as a soph.

Increasing velocity takes proper mechanics and a great deal of lower body and core strength exercises. Long toss in the off season and find a competant pitching coach.

Be patient and work on your ability to throw quality strikes and change speeds. Let your body mature and give yourself spme pateince.

Good Luck,

stuff - If you haven't done so already, spend some time on the part of the HSBB website devoted to weight training. Both on the message board and also the links on the home page. You want to increase your velocity and improve mechanics? You'll find a lot of great advice there.
