Well control and changing speed is more important, but I'm 15 (5'7 1/2 130 lbs.) and I throw low 70's and top out around 75. I'm a bit on the slow side, average is porbablly being able to throw mid 70's consistantaly and maybe top out in the upper 70's.
It all depeneds on your size, weight and expecialy your machanics. For instance I just turned 14 year old, 5'9 and I'm topping out at 81 or 82. But look at billy wagner for instance the guy's 5''11 and throws 98 miles an hour because of his great body machanics. To increase arm strenght weights are ok but using bands helps strenghten shoulder mustles alot.
