So I sent out emails to schools 3 days ago, i got 2 responses promptly the next day, however the other schools havent yet, granted I understand its in season and coaches are very busy but it got me thinking; do coaches usually email you back if theyre not interested? and how long can you expect to wait for them to response regardless of interest? 2 or 3 weeks? on top of that do you think a lot of coaches have emails given to the by the school and they don't even use them?

good to know, thanks.
no il be a redshirt soph this fall
ive kept it more vague in my requirements cause i know at this point i cant be too picky. down south (great weather), good program, D1 (virtually all big schools have good academics too), and potential roster spots (players getting drafted or less than 35 guys), so that brings me to most of the top 25 schools in the country. i emailed about 15 schools if youd like the list i could PM you

And you're not being picky? I don't know your talent level, but, I would suggest lowering your standards and expanding your horizon. The schools you have targeted, if interested, would have probably already contacted YOU. I don't want to burst your bubble but rather asking that you might want to lower the blinders. Good baseball is played all over the Country, try not to limit those opportunities by focusing on the elites.

another question: I have no idea what 2 year program you are at right now but:

What were your numbers there?
Were you a starter there?
Where is the coach in this picture--why isn't he helping you?

I suspect there is more to your story adn I do agree with RZ--why just the Top 25 programs in the country? that is a total mistake
yeah i guess that does seem picky, but the one problem im running into is schools already have their rosters filled for the 09-10 year so i have to find a school that doesnt fill 35 guys (few it seems) or find a school that knows theyll have atleast one spot open up with the draft. some schools have said we'd like to have you and we've got 1 guy who is projected to get drafted (whatever round) and if that happens and you havent signed than we can make soemthing happen so keep in touch.
the other problem is i havent pitched infront of many people because i only pitched in a couple scrimmages in the fall before i got hurt.

would you have any suggestions of any schools that come to mind RZ1?
we didnt really keep numbers just ER accurately because fresh pitchers kept track and well they didnt do a very good job, and we had no real starters because the most anyone would pitch in a game was 2 innings (coach wanted to keep guys fresh and get everyone in each weekend)
i wanted to see if i could take some steps before i call my coach and ask for help, i figured it never works too well if i havent done anything to help myself yet, so maybe thats my next step.
i know to conteract the fact i really dont have much to show right now, im trying to put together a video in the next few weeks, i can sit at 89-92, and with me being taught how throw with proper mechanics over the winter and when im closer to 100%, and get longtoss in for about 2 weeks i know il be able to throw considerably harder than 89-92. its not a lot to bank on school wise right now, but i really dont wana end up at a school a settled on just because
Your request is unfair as I or anyone else on this board knows you or your ability. As far as you know I could be a cross dressing sokker fan, as far I know you are a guy playing with the heads of people on this board. IMHO, You are a 20 yr old college soph and I think you have to start from the ground floor, and do it on your own.

My suggestion is take the "minimal effort - maximium gain" approach. Pull out your regional map and select various schools at all levels (NAIA, D3, D2, and D1), call the coaches, explain who you are, and ask if you can come in a throw a bullpen for them. Next, you have to look in the mirror and figure out who, and how good you really are, then follow that path.

Sorry if you were looking for more but that's all I can give with what I know.
haha no no thats definitely understandable. i was just curious if you had some schools in particular you thought of that were not so elite programs but definitely good baseball schools regardless of whether i could or couldnt play there talent wise, cause it seems theres PLENTY of schools people never hear about that are great.
I like your plan, however my only problem has been its a violation to throw for bullpen for a D1 program during season (atleast ive been told this)

I appreciate your help and input on this considering there isnt a whole lot around where im from

There again I don't know "team status" or anything else about you. Draw up a plan that in Mid-May when school ends you hit the road with a 3 week schedule of appointments from schools at every level. Personally if this is just talk, I've wasted a total of 10 min of my entire life talking with you, I waste that much time everytime I go to DQ wondering what to get. I've put in my 2 cents, now it's your call, live the adventure, or bury the dream.
