Depends. Are you talking about those who play year round? Or those that have a break and need to get back in swing before season starts? Unclear. I say if a hitter is in a hot streak, he can't play enough games ("Let's Play 2" - E. Banks) For one who is in a slump, you really need game speed conditions to make the adjustments.

Good points for discussion. My thoughts were more along the lines of high school age.

Well Jordan always said there are guys who need 10 Free throws a day, guys who need 100 free throws a day, and guys who need 1,000 free throws a day  I don't think this question can be answered without actually taking into account the player himself.  I have had baseball only guys that never were all leaguers and then I had a 3 sport athlete who rolled out of bed and hit .450.
