How to form a new Junior Legion/Senior Legion? | High School Baseball Web

Question: how does one go about forming a new Junior Legion and/or Senior Legion team?

I have been approached by parents of our AAU club about keeping the core players together as they enter high school. In particular, we are researching forming a new American Legion team.

What are the rules and restrictions for entering a team in American Legion baseball? Do all of the kids have to go to the same high school? How about getting "releases"?

I played Legion ball when I was younger, but I don't know the in's and out's of how to start up a new team. All I know is that I have received a lot of requests to do so by the parents of our 13U's and 14U's.

Can anybody help me? TG, are you out there?

Have you contacted American Legion home office? or your state rep?
Bet they'd have your answers.

Yes, I have. But my experience has been that I get more direct, politically unbiased answers on these message boards. I'm interested in hearing what the board knows about starting a new Legion program.
