At the college level players should be looking for a ball in the stike zone, and be disciplined enough to wait for it. Lots of talk these days about whether clutch hitting exists or is just a figment of the imagination!!!
As I told a friend recently...sometimes when a batter comes to the plate in an rbi situation, his thoughts are focused on the results rather than the approach.
Keep true to your approach.....
Don't try to do too much.....
If the situation warrants it...hit the ball the other way.....
Recognize the pitch and drive it!
