Just show a little restraint --- and heaven knows that's in short supply around here. Don't read topics started by people who irritate you and don't comment (even in a peacekeeping role) on useless, ugly threads --- it only bumps them back up to the top and gets them more attention.

Keep in mind this is an internet site. Although many of us have had the wonderful opportunity to meet other members and see their sons play, the majority will remain complete strangers and what they say about their own knowledge of the game, or their son's attributes are merely words on a screen.

Don't forget we have members who have contributed for years and who have been of immeasurable asistance and comfort to other members. And the jerks who show up to stir the pot generally wander away again after a few months.

Just like at the ballfield, interaction with the jerks only encourages them and gives them validity. Not hitting the 'reply' button IS the 'ignore' feature.

This has caused me to remember back to when we were kids. And when there was another kid that was getting on our nerves we would give him "The Silent Treatment". Nobody was allowed to speak to or even acknowledge the kid that was getting the treatment. It was brutal!!!! And very effective!!!!!!! it never failed to produce the desired results usually in a short period of time.
Maybe we should dust off "The Silent Treatment" and see if it still works
