Hello, with the start of the season approaching, I’d like to know what services let you watch NCAA baseball without cable? Specifically, PAC-12 games. I’ve looked into PAC-12 Network but it seems a bit pricy. Any suggestions on how to watch the upcoming college baseball season?

Thank You,

Wow, this thread could be a pretty good one if folks share!

I subscribe to ESPN+ but am always looking for hints on how to find coverage.

My biggest question:

How do you record games? Is it possible to using some of the cord-cutting services such as Tivo, etc.?

I know ESPN keeps previous games around a bit but no really sure for how long.

I am somewhat technical so I am quite embarrassed that I don't know the answers questions like this! I do know I could set something up on a PC and capture live video and audio using something like FFmpeg but that requires a bit of work (turning off screen-savers, setting up timers to start and stop, etc.)...

We use YouTube TV as our primary content source and get both the ACC network and the SEC network.  Both carry a ton of good college baseball and YouTube TV has a virtual DVR.

I also have ESPN + and get a lot of games that way as well.  It’s $5 per month, prior games are available on demand and it’s available on phone, tablet and TV.

I have Fubo. It has ACC, SEC, Big10 and PAC12 Networks. Two years ago  FS1 and FS2 carried many Big12 games. Also, use your cable or streaming access to open the ESPN app. Scroll to college baseball. You will see all the games on or available in replay. During the NCAA tournament ESPN has a college baseball version of Red Zone.

This is from 2020. Where to stream NCAA baseball ...

There’s probably also college baseball access on specific KODI add ons. KODI is not illegal to use. What is illegal is pirates allowing access to otherwise paid for content. And it is advised to use a VPN with KODI. Take it for what it’s worth.

Another one is frontrowsports.eu. Same situation as KODI. You have to know what you’re doing. It’s like tiptoeing through a malware minefield. I used to use these for UCLA sports sources before I had availability to PAC12  Network.

I found out about KODI and Front Row Sports from my son. It’s what you get for the expense of college. He learned how to watch Eagles and Sixers games while out of the area.

When my son was on the road in college I could find most of the games online somewhere.  Some were free....some were not.  If you have a favorite team or league you can usually get a month-long subscription to see games.  It worked great when my son's team played 2 teams from the same league in back to back weekends.  As someone mentioned check the schedule of the team or game you're intersted in.  It will usually tell you how to watch.  Maybe with Covid travel restrictions there will be more free games than in the past.....or at least we can hope

Do they show live games?

RJM I am impressed! Never knew anyone else who ever used KODI.

I use it for EVERYTHING!

I also use a VPN so they cannot keep me from watching games not available in my area.

I learned about it from my son when he was in college. It’s not illegal to use. It’s illegal to distribute the content. But it’s an ethics debate. On shows and movies KODI isn’t hitting a counter that involves residuals for actors. A lot of actors receiving residuals aren’t mega millionaires. I only use KODI if I don’t have access any other way. On the other hand I’ve used Locast or the Fox Now app and a VPN to watch football games not available in my area. If there’s a way to access something I probably know how.

I’ve found Troypoint to be the best information provider on KODI. Currently the best add on is The Crew. I use Numbers as a backup. For those not familiar with KODI, today’s link could be gone tomorrow. The FCC and the courts play Wack A Mole with KODI add ons. But if you can follow directions from websites you can load another add on.

I use a VPN for MLB TV to watch the Dodgers. 😀 And I get the MLB TV free through T-Mobile! It might lag a bit occasionally but hey, free Dodgers games, I’m not complaining!

Prediction: In a year or two the MLB blackout restrictions will be removed. As customers leave cable for streaming and streaming services dump regional sports networks leagues will need alternatives to access. Amazon will be carrying some Yankees games this year. It will be interesting to see how this evolves. Amazon could end up being a sports pay per view or pay per season provider.

Then there’s the LA issue where I believe there are cable companies not carrying the Dodgers network over a negotiation dispute.

AB, my son hasn’t been in college since summer 2018, but I would screen capture the games after they were left on the “previous games” section of the ESPN site. It worked great and I still watch those today.

Baseball America just released the 2021 version of your link above. Saw it strolling through twitter. Haven't had a chance to look yet, been busy fixing busted pipes, generators and such.  Just got power back yesterday in my neighborhood.

Some great info here. For those with more VPN experience, do you know why certain servers would direct me to a spoof HSBaseballweb site? It has happened with a couple of other sites where it won't let me access while connected through my Proton VPN.

Go into settings on your VPN. Look for “split tunneling” assuming it’s a feature on your VPN. When you click on it a list of apps on your device will appear. The apps you select will be excluded from your VPN. It will allow you to get apps without turning off your VPN.

If you’re using a browser to access hsbaseballweb select a second browser just for accessing the site. It will allow you to be VPN protected on your regular browser and still have easy access to hsbaseballweb on a second browser that doesn’t see your VPN due to split tunneling.
