Sounds like a certain high school near us 44 Smile

Eric - you can't tell from the information you are providing. Think about a golf shot - A wedge would also clear that net - but probably land pretty close to the fence. A 5 wood would also easily carry that net - but would land well beyond it. Trajectories are totally different.

Locally, there's a complex with a 12/13U field that has such a 30ft tall net behind a 260ft right field. Have watched a ton of 12 & 13 year olds hit balls out in left (275, 5 ft tall fence) but only one lh batter consistently line (not pop) a ball out down the rf line over the tall net. Was no surprise last year, when he was chosen to play on 14U Team USA. His ex mgr & coach confided to me, the kid didn't even have to attend tryouts, the coachs knew who he was.

Is the net perfectly PLUMB or does it lean in or out?
Also, was the batter up in the box or towards the back? With the angle from the point of contact to the top of the fence I'm guessing at LEAST 252'6"! Big Grin
