Indoor tryouts......will there be mistakes?

I'm sure some parents / kids will feel mistakes were made...some coaches may eventually decide they made one or more, but...not going there...

My son is a 2011 and I'd say that over the last two seasons, they've spent more time inside than outside during tryouts...I think they kept the right kids from what I saw...

I'm looking forward to this year's tryouts (lots of positions open after graduations) AND seeing the team on a field...Here's hoping everyone's kids have a great season - maybe some of their teammates could have an off game when they're playing my son's team

Big Grin
So far our guys have been inside only. A friend who's son is at Westfields said they got outside on Monday - not sure about yesterday, but I would assume the same...

Today is really just the first day they can do cuts. I think they have to finalize by Friday, but I could be wrong about that. I do know they have to do at least 3 days of tryouts...I'm guessing that today my son's school will either set the roster or at least clear out some of the kids who they know won't be making the team. My son said they had 75 or so kids trying out for JV and Varsity combined. It will be interesting to see if they cut any of the Juniors / Seniors as my son said that he thinks there are 2-4 of them "at risk"...
From what I heard, they cleared the cage(s) and bullpen(s) for hitting and pitching. They have turf outside the foul lines and apparently shoveled that off so they could do some fielding...also heard they used the parking lot...

No cuts for our guys today, but apparently there will likely be some (if not all) tomorrow...

I could do without any snow tomorrow!

Edit: I should have said that "They" in the first paragraph was Westfields...
