What kinda folks are these HSBBWers, anyway?

As many know, son was at a California D2 last year and transferred across the country for his last year of college ball this year.  It has been great having him home for three weeks of his Winter Break.

Last year, he roomed with son of PickedOff, one of our esteemed site members here.  While currently home for the short break, he felt compelled to take a day to drive seven hours (3 1/2 each way) to go back and visit his old roomie and, equally important, his parents.  They were (and are) the most unbelievable adopted parents a distant parent could hope for.   They have made a big positive impression on our son.

Can't express enough gratitude... we look forward to continued friendship.

This site is special.

Yes it is and it just goes to show also how small the baseball world is when your son makes that trek across country to find himself less than 30 minutes away from another HSBBW member...plus my son recently verbally committed and I have already met the Dad of another Commit be it 2 years ahead of mine to the same school! Very special indeed in many ways!

Thanks for the kind words Pete. We love that kid! It was so nice to see the boys together again. Went to the driving range with the boys and watched them swing the new clubs D got for Christmas. Turns out, he's much better swinging from the right side. Go figure.

Thankful for our friendship!
