A friend of mine, who is a Mom and lives in the Hudson Valley area, is looking for a travel team for her freshman son from her first marriage. He has never played travel ball, 6"2" 140# RHP, sits 79-81, and his father was a St. Louis Cardinal farmhand in the early 80's.

She asked me to give her a hand, and I just don't know the quality teams in that area. He has the goal of playing college baseball. Any help would be very much appreciated.

TR - I think he is a little young and in need of more development for your team right now. I know you are typically looking for kids to have had varsity experience, and I think he may be a year away from that as a HS freshman.

If you still think she should contact you, I will pass it along. Please let me know what you think...
I concur with Redsoxfan21. The clippers have a 16U team I believe that a lot of freshman play on. Coach Merc let my son pitch a game for them the summer after his freshman year. They are a bunch of great guys too. They play up in a lot of tournaments. This might be a more appropriate level than TRhit's team.

If it were me I'd look in that direction first.
